Pineapple Smoothie

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This vegan pineapple banana smoothie is a delicious vegan drink and fast breakfast recipe, filled with refreshing, tropical fruit and creamy oat milk.

A 45 degree angle picture of a bright yellow smoothie. It is garnished with coconut flakes and mint. There is a white cloth, pineapple, and more mint in the background.

I absolutely love this tropical recipe! It is so light and refreshing and tastes just like a pina colada smoothie.

It's the perfect recipe whether you're looking for a vegan summer dessert, or just a summer vegan recipe. It will cool you down on a hot day, or make a chilly winter day feel like summer.

I love being able to grab some frozen fruit, blend everything up, and have a yummy smoothie in almost no time at all.

Ingredients

Small white bowls with labeled ingredients containing: mango, pineapple, banana, oat milk, pineapple juice

Pineapple: This delicious tropical fruit is the star of the show. I always recommend using frozen fruit in smoothies and this is no exception. Try to buy frozen pineapple when it is on sale, and store it in your freezer at home for a quick and inexpensive treat anytime.

Mango: Another tropical fruit that makes this mango and pineapple smoothie so tropical and refreshing. This fruit adds so much light and sweet flavor to the recipe.

Banana: I love using frozen banana and making this pineapple banana smoothie extra frosty and frozen.

Pro tip, always peel, slice, and freeze a bunch of bananas and keep them in your freezer. This will ensure that you're always ready to make a delicious frozen smoothie anytime you want.

Oat Milk: I chose this as the liquid base to make an oat milk smoothie. This will make things extra creamy and more eco friendly than other milk and plant milk options.

Pineapple Juice: This adds to the tropical flavors in this recipe.

See recipe card below for quantities.

Instructions

Two side by side pictures of a blender. One has unblended ingredients inside with oat milk, mango, pineapple, and banana. The second has a blended yellow smoothie inside.

This is a super easy breakfast recipe and can be made in just a couple of minutes.

Simply add your ingredients to a blender and blend until you've reached the desired consistency.

If you want to make this a pineapple smoothie bowl, use a little less oat milk to make a thicker smoothie. If you're looking for more of a liquid-y consistency, add a little extra oat milk and grab a straw.

Substitutions

If you don't have mango or banana, that's okay! You can just add more of whatever you do have on hand to ensure that you have enough stuff to blend up.

If you want to make a smoothie without banana, add more pineapple or mango, or add ½ a cup of vegan yogurt and a little ice in its place.

It's an option to swap out oat milk for another plant based milk. I think using a light coconut milk (the kind from a carton, not a can) would be delicious and would make a yummy pineapple coconut smoothie.

Top Tip

Always peel, cut, and freeze fruit in advance. This ensures that you can have a frosty, frozen, smoothie anytime you want!

It also allows you to have a smoothie without ice because you're using frozen fruit in its place.
