Ingredient Notes

Labeled ingredients including: lemons, simple syrup, mango

Lemons: It's important to use freshly squeezed lemon juice to get the best flavor possible.

Mango: We use mango in this recipe to make a naturally flavored lemonade.

You can use either fresh or frozen mango, just ensure that your fresh mango is ripe if you go that route. This article discusses all things, ripe mangos.

Simple Syrup: We make our own simple syrup using water and sugar, see instructions below for details.

See recipe card below for the full list of ingredients and quantities.

Step by Step Instructions

Let's walk through these easy steps so you can learn how to make mango lemonade!

For the first step, make the simple syrup by combining the 1 cup of sugar with two cups of water in a pot. Turn the stove to medium heat and stir the mixture until the sugar dissolves.

Remove the simple syrup from heat and allow it to cool.

Next, squeeze the fresh lemons to obtain the lemon juice, and puree the mango.

Combine the cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, mango, and six addition cups of cool water in a large pitcher or container. Stir well before enjoying!

Top Tip: When making homemade lemonade, always start by making the simple syrup. This will allow time to it to sufficiently cool.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this in advance? Absolutely, yes! This stays fresh in a covered container in the fridge for up to five days. I haven't tested it longer than that though.

Can I limit the amount of fruit chunks in my lemonade? Yes, after the lemonade is mixed, you can strain the lemonade to get any lemon or mango chunks out.

What if I don't like mango? You can easily swap out the mango for any other delicious fruit puree instead.

Is this like the Starbucks mango dragonfruit lemonade? Kind of! This is a different recipe and does not contain dragonfruit. You can certainly add dragonfruit to the lemonade though. Or try my Dragon Fruit Lemonade.

How to Store

Fridge: You can store this lemonade in the fridge in a covered container for up to five days. Just be sure not to drink out of that container so you don't introduce any bacteria and shorten it's lifespan.

Freezer: A fun way I love to store my lemonade is my freezing them using ice cube trays.

Just pour the lemonade into the tray and freeze until you have adorable and yummy lemonade ice cubes. You can enjoy these ice cubes in cocktails, other lemonade or juices, or any way your heart desires.

Substitutions and Additions

There are so many ways to change and add additional flavor and fun to this fruity lemonade recipe!

Sparkling Mango Lemonade: You can turn this into sparkling lemonade simply by swapping out 3 of the additional cups of water with 3 cups of sparkling water instead.

Just note that the carbonation might not last if made too far in advance of when you plan to serve this drink. If you are making it in advance, simply add the sparkling water and stirring it up right before serving.

Spicy Mango Lemonade: This idea comes from a spicy margarita! Add a few slices of jalapeño pepper to the lemonade to add a kick.

Spiked Mango Lemonade: Add a splash of your favorite rum or vodka to make a mango lemonade cocktail.

Mango Pineapple Lemonade: Add more fruit into the mix! Simply puree pineapple or any other complimentary fruit to add more flavor and fun.
