Cherry Smoothie Recipe

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This refreshing vegan smoothie is made with plant based milk and delicious fruit.

A bright pink smoothie topped with freshly sliced figs and strawberries

I am always a huge fan of smoothies. They are so simple to make and are perfect for an easy and healthy breakfast at home or on the go.

Smoothies are also great if you're looking for a refreshing snack or treat, or even a healthier dessert option.

It's so easy to make smoothies plant based or vegan. Simply swap any dairy like milk or yogurt, for a plant based option. I love using oat milk and almond milk in my smoothies.

Ingredients

Labeled smoothie ingredients including a banana, cherries, and almond milk.

Cherries: The cherries are the center of this recipe because they add amazing flavor to this smoothie.

If you want to learn more about cherries, check out this article all about cherries.

Banana: I add frozen banana to almost all of my smoothies because it's a great way to add a bunch of natural sweetness, flavor, and a creamy and frosty consistency to the smoothie.

Almond Milk: I used almond milk in this recipe. You can use classic, unsweetened almond milk, or a vanilla almond milk for a little extra flavor.

You can also swap the almond milk for any other plant based milk like oat milk!

See recipe card below for quantities.

Instructions

A white bowl with a pink cherry smoothie inside, garnished with coconut shreds and fresh fruit

This frozen cherry smoothie is so easy to make. Simply combine all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

The recipe calls for frozen banana and cherries, which is part of what makes this smoothie so creamy and frosty. If you don't have time to freeze the fruit before making the smoothie, just add a cup of ice to the blender before blending.

My top tip for this recipe is that it is so sweet and delicious, it doesn't just have to be a breakfast food. Use this recipe as a frozen cherry shake that is both plant based and a healthy option!

Substitutions and Additions

If you want to make a cherry protein smoothie, simply add a scoop of your favorite plant based protein powder before blending.

In order to make a cherry smoothie without banana, just omit the banana and add half a cup of plant based yogurt in its place.

If you want to add some extra flavor, use a vanilla flavored almond milk and this quickly becomes a cherry vanilla smoothie.
