Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

This warm and cozy breakfast recipe is filled with fresh apples, sweet brown sugar, and flavorful spices. It takes just 15 minutes to make! This recipe is also vegan and gluten-free which makes it a great option for a variety of different dietary needs and preferences.

Ingredients

  • ½ tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 apple diced
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ cup vanilla yogurt plant based

Instructions

  • Warm the olive oil in a pot over medium-low heat. Once the pot is warm add the diced apple, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Pour in the water and oats, stir everything together and continue to cook for about 10 more minutes or until the oats have cooked fully. Make sure to stir frequently to avoid oatmeal getting stuck on the bottom and burning.
  • Once fully cooked, remove the oats from heat and stir in the yogurt. Top with any extra toppings and enjoy!

Notes

This recipe can be stored in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to four days. Add one tablespoon of water when reheating in the microwave or on the stovetop.
