These homemade blueberry popsicles are a delicious plant based dessert that the entire family will love.
I love that these blueberry yogurt popsicles are super easy to make and can be made fresh or ahead of time and stored in the freezer for a quick grab-and-go treat. Plus, I'll use any excuse to make homemade vegan sweets!
You can make just about any flavor you want and make simple adjustments to get the exact flavors and ingredients you want.
These homemade fruit popsicles are made using only four plant-based ingredients that I usually already have at home.
There are so many options for popsicle molds too, you can use a classic mold with classic popsicle sticks or use a re-usable popsicle set!
Ingredients
I try to use organic ingredients whenever possible when cooking and creating recipes.
Blueberries: You can opt for either fresh or frozen blueberries in this recipe. I usually keep a supply of frozen berries in my freezer so I can make ice pops or smoothies anytime.
Banana: Just like the berries, fresh or frozen banana is just fine in this recipe.
Yogurt: I typically like to use a vegan coconut yogurt. Choosing a vanilla yogurt like this recipe calls for gives an easy and delicious burst of flavor.
Plant-Based Milk: This blueberry popsicle recipe calls for almond milk as the liquid base but you can use any type of vegan milk you like best.
My second choice would be oat milk, this option would probably give you a slightly creamier popsicle.
See recipe card below for quantities.
Instructions
I love how simple this recipe is! The easy process and short ingredient list makes it a great supervised activity for kids.
Making food with children can be both fun and delicious!
Start by washing your berries if you chose to use fresh berries rather than frozen.
Next, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until your mixture is smooth and creamy. Then you'll pour the mixture into a popsicle mold.
Place the mold in the freezer and set a timer for about 30 minutes and add the popsicle sticks at that time. If you have a mold that will hold the popsicle sticks in place, you can add them before placing in the freezer.
Freeze the pops for about 3 hours or until frozen solid.
Remove and enjoy your sweet vegan dessert!
This recipe is a perfect frozen vegan dessert or mid-day treat for kids. Usually kids crave sweet, sugar-loaded desserts and can end up with a sugar rush followed by a crash.
The good news is that these berry ice pops are loaded with all natural ingredients and don't contain any added sugar. The fruit is so naturally sweet and delicious, there is no need to add anything artificial! All of those reasons make these popsicles one of my favorite healthy vegan desserts.
