Bruschetta has always been one of my favorite appetizers. I wanted to make a really simple and easy (but totally delicious!) version that I could quickly throw together for a last minute get-together, or for a fun surprise with dinner.
- 1 load of bread cut into slices of your desired thickness
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 large tomato (diced)
- 1/4 cup red onion (diced)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Preheat your oven to 400°.
Wash and prepare your produce as directed above. Gently mix together, season with salt and pepper to taste, and set aside
Brush your olive oil and minced garlic onto your slices of bread and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes- or until warm and a bit crispy.
Load the tomato mixture onto each toasted bread slice and serve immediately. Enjoy!
